EngMek was formed in 2009 by Cathal Kiely and Rory McCarthy.
It started by developing a niche market in the United States for metal stamped parts that were manufactured in China.
In 2010 in order to support our expanding customer base, EngMek set up a Joint Venture (JV) company in China. This joint venture now called ‘EngMek China’ supported EngMek on a global basis by setting up a fully-equipped, Quality Control department in Shanghai. This in-house Quality Control allows pre-shipment checks of all goods leaving China as well as carrying out detailed quality audits of all contracted and potential suppliers. It also has a full logistics team to ensure products arrive to EngMek customers in an efficient manner.
Cathal Kiely – Global Sales Director
Cathal has over thirty years’ experience of working in the Mechanical Engineering Industry where he has held senior management roles in global Engineering Companies. Takes personal responsibility for all the major accounts in EngMek. Cathal has an in-depth knowledge of engineering and quality control.
Rory McCarthy – Director and Financial Controller
Rory a Chartered Accountant who worked for a number of years with Price Waterhouse Coopers and Deloitte & Touche. Rory is responsible for the Groups Financial function and Management of Engmek Ireland as well as the strategic planning of the group.
Ms Wang Wei – Managing Director of EngMek China
Ms Wang Wei a mechanical engineer by profession, our key person in Shanghai has operated a fastener business in Shanghai for over thirty years and over this period has built up a personal relationship with many manufacturers in China and is now directly responsible for running EngMek in Asia.
Bruce Gowans – Global Business Development
Bruce worked for thirty four years in a manufacturing and operations environment for a large global corporation. Twenty two years of those years was in a senior managerial role leading Procurement and Strategic sourcing teams. Vast experience in global sourcing, product transfers, new product introduction, multiple commodities, and cost reduction.
Hubert Finneran – Senior Quality Control Consultant
Program management – managed complex/high volume programs, DFEMA development and approvals, master timing schedules, status reporting, technical problem solving, DOE studies.
Manufacturing – Six Sigma/Lean/6S training. Development and implementation of process monitoring/ control systems, production planning/control systems, costing & analysis.
Quality – ISO/IATF 16949 systems development, auditing, and training. Manage SQE/SDE, inspection and audit teams. Expertise on Quality standards. Developed and implemented QMS systems for both ISO 9000 and TS 16949 requirements. As a subject matter expert, has lectured at several industry and government group symposiums on the IS9000:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards.
Zhoudanhui – QC (Quality Control) Manager
Zhoudanhui who holds a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is manager of EngMek’s QC Department for the last seven years.
He has wide experience in implementing quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP and PPAP.
As well supervising the day-to-day operations he works closely with the QC departments of our manufacturers to ensure that quality plans are properly implemented.
Paula Collopy – Office Manager
Paula has been with EngMek since it started and has played a vital role as Office Manager in putting in place proper office systems to ensure the smooth running of EngMek. She also co-ordinates our ISO and ensures we keep to the standard.
Neil Donegan – Warehouse Manager
Neil is manager of our warehouse in Ireland and since he joined the company, he has been involved in developing and maintaining a sophisticated stock management system. Also, responsible that all orders are picked and delivered according to customers’ requirements. Neil is fortunate that he is supported by an excellent team of warehouse staff that contribute to the efficient running of the warehouse.
Viraj Kavi – International Sales, Marketing and Procurement Engineer
Viraj a mechanical engineer with a Masters degree in International Business. Viraj has worked for a number of years in global manufacturing engineering companies. His role in EngMek is to drive sales through digital marketing and also to use his background in Engineering to develop a new supplier base in India.
Jim Walsh – Sales Manager – Ireland
Jim an Electrician by trade has worked for many years in the construction industry both as a project manager and also held senior sales roles in a variety of construction supply companies.
Mihaly Tamas – Sales Manager – Europe
Mihaly a mechanical engineer by profession has worked in a managerial capacity in a number of high-profile engineering companies in Hungary. He is fluent in Hungarian, Romanian and English.
Oytun Ozmel – General Manager – EngMek, Turkey
Oytun a Mechanical Engineer by profession, has been working in steel trading for the last ten years and over that time has built up a close relationship with major sheet metal fabricators in Turkey. Oytun’s role within EngMek is to expand our supply base in Turkey, to establish and manage our QC function in to ensure all our suppliers meet EngMek’s quality standards and to co-ordinate logistics on the ground in Turkey. Oytun will also be managing the day to day requirements of our office in Turkey.
Melih Erten – Quality Manager – EngMek, Turkey
Melih is a graduate in Industrial Engineering and also holds a master degree in Business Administration. He has extensive experience in planning, cost analysis and ERP systems in manufacturing industries. Melih is responsible for auditing all new suppliers and monitoring the quality function of our existing suppliers to make sure that all products meet EngMek Quality standards.
